Who we are and what we do
The Endocrinology & Diabetes Association of Mauritius (EDA) was launched on 14 November 2019 – World Diabetes Day – a symbolic date commemorating the discovery of insulin and our shared commitment to improving care for people living with diabetes. Since our founding, our association has steadily grown in purpose and scope, uniting specialists dedicated to excellence in clinical practice, education, and research.
President’s message
Dear Colleagues and Visitors,
Endocrinology and diabetes represent complex and rapidly evolving fields of medicine that have a profound impact on both individual patients and the broader community. The management of endocrine disorders — from diabetes and thyroid disease to adrenal and pituitary conditions — requires not only scientific precision but also a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach that draws on the expertise of clinicians, researchers, and allied health professionals.
Our mission is grounded in three key pillars:
As we continue this journey, our focus remains steadfast: to elevate patient care, support professional development, and engage meaningfully with the community we serve. We welcome your involvement, feedback, and ideas as we work together to advance endocrine and diabetes care in Mauritius.
Warm regards,

President, Endocrinology & Diabetes Association of Mauritius
